PTA Volunteer Opportunities
Morning Greeters
Morning Greeters from 9-9:30am Can you lend a smile and a helping hand during Morning Drop-off?
At Lockwood, we have a long tradition of parents greeting and assisting our students as they arrive on campus by foot, car, or bus. This is a very important role that keeps drop-off running safely and efficiently. Further, receiving a friendly greeting from a parent is a fantastic start to every kids' school day. If you can commit to weekly or bi-weekly regularity administration and the PTA would greatly appreciate you!

Event History
Leopard Laps at Lockwood has a long standing tradition as a jog-a-thon / move-a-thon hosted on campus by the PTA. On the day of the event students and staff get to celebrate how much they raised for the PTA by way of an all school jog-a-thon during the school day during non-instructional time. To get the Lockwood student body excited for their celebration, PE specialists hype students runners as they move around the course, music teachers Mr. Bacot and Ms. Abdi keep the crowd enthused by blasting tunes, paraeducators & teachers sometimes join in the fun by joining student movers around the track, and the PTA provides students with a cool down snack at the end of there scheduled run time. Lucky also joins in on the fun by dancing and giving High-5's!
Donations Support
Donations raised during this one event to support student and staff enrichment at Lockwood. Your donations allow the PTA to fund grants to school, teacher classroom stipends, in-school events and guest speakers, community afterschool events, art docent program, science fair, multicultural night, and other aid request as needed throughout the school year.
Volunteer Needed
Leopard Laps requires a lot of parent volunteers to help set up the day of event, count runners laps, hand out water & medals, provide popsicles, and to cheer from the sidelines! That said, to smoothly execute this all school event 60+ volunteers are needed.
