PTA Volunteer Opportunities
"Welcome Back" Morning Greeters Needed!
Can you lend a smile and a helping hand during Morning Drop-off?
At Lockwood, we have a long tradition of parents greeting and assisting our students as they arrive on campus by foot, car, or bus. This is a very important role that keeps drop-off running safely and efficiently. Further, receiving a friendly greeting from a parent is a fantastic start to every kids' school day. Your assistance in the morning would require relatively little time and your help is much needed and much appreciated.
"Welcome Back" Morning Greeters: For the first few weeks, we like to have a few extra folks present to welcome kids, help point them to their classrooms (especiallyKindergarteners!), and manage a smooth and safe flow of traffic in the drop-off circle. Morning Greeters are needed from 9-9:30am. If you are able to help our Lockwood students get to their classrooms safely (and on the right foot!), please sign up here.
Regular Morning Greeters: We are in great need of regular Morning Greeters--folks who would be available to volunteer one or more morning a week throughout the school year. Still just from 9-9:30am, but with a weekly or bi-weekly regularity. If you are able to volunteer for an ongoing position, please contact Neva Corrigan at nevacorr@gmail.com.
Leopard Laps!
Leopard Laps requires a lot of parent volunteers to help set up, count runners laps, hand out water & medals, and to cheer from the sidelines on Friday, September 30th:

Do none of these seem right for you but you would still like to be involved? Or maybe you prefer to just help out the day of the event? Please email Gavin at: president@lockwoodpta.org to be added to our volunteer email list.
We will contact you as events or programs come up that need volunteers to see if you have an hour or two to help out. Many of our events and programs take 15-20 (or more!) volunteers to run... we can't do it without you! Examples of events and programs that we would solicit volunteers for include: Picture Day, Health Screening, Science Fair, Family Dance, Bingo, Leopard Laps, Book Fair and more!
